RCMA’s Response to Discrimination

Serving our community of meeting and hospitality professionals is a remarkable privilege. We are in awe of your work each day to create welcoming spaces of connection, inspiration, and meaning. Our affiliation is so much more than an association; we are connected by a genuine friendship and care for each other as a “family.” Our nurturing relationships are our greatest strength.

When members of our community hurt, we hurt with them (Romans 12:15). Locally and abroad, the pain of mistreatment and inequality continues to impact our friends and colleagues profoundly. Many are facing discrimination based on their heritage,
skin color, and beliefs. Prejudice, bigotry, and racism in any form–explicit or implicit–are unacceptable. We hurt with you and extend our care and support to you.

RCMA continues to promote equality and celebrate diverse voices in our community. MOSAIC, RCMA’s Diversity Commission, is a key initiative that guides us to embody our values and intentionally talk about issues of injustice. RCMA continues expanding our multicultural awareness and elevating conversations on equality through all our platforms.

If you are suffering from the pain of injustice or loss, we, the RCMA leadership, open our hearts, hands, and ears to you. Now is an important moment for all of us to extend care and be present with one another. The compassion we offer now is the beginning of change and the building blocks of a brighter future.
