Apply to speak at RCMA’s 2022 Emerge Conference. Our professional development and educational program is designed to offer best practices, new ideas and innovation to event professionals. We’ll review all applications based on content alone and its potential value to our program and attendees.

Before you apply—what you need to know

We’re looking for speakers from all areas of the events market and possibly beyond. The faith-based events community is unique in many ways and RCMA’s membership is diverse. Consider the audience when crafting your proposed session content. 


Tracks

Your proposed session must fit into one of these tracks:

  • Effective Communication—presenting fresh ideas for messaging, promotion, recruitment through all channels including social media, print and digital communication

  • Event planner toolkit—focusing on event essentials including logistics, contracts, food & beverage, exhibit management, budgeting and operations

  • Technology—exploring current and futuristic advances in technology designed to streamline processes, improve time management and create usable data

  • Leadership development —understanding the value of vision, mission and quality leadership, and managing teams

  • Trends & Best Practices—exploring current trends and proven practices to help develop a planner’s skillset

  • Personal Growth and Development —highlighting work/life balance, juggling numerous responsibilities and self-care

  • Cost-saving Ideas – showcasing tested methods that can provide opportunities for planners to help their non-profit budgets


Fees

We do not normally compensate presenters for travel or accommodations or pay speaking fees. The opportunity to share your ideas at RCMA with industry peers is a valuable part of our community.  Whenever possible, we’ll promote presenters through our social media, print and marketing streams. 


Presentation Details

Content
It doesn’t matter if you’ve presented your session elsewhere before, but note that we are looking for fresh ideas, interesting angles and inspiring new perspectives.

No sales pitches
No sales pitches masked as education please! Note that we collect audience feedback to monitor quality and appropriateness of content.

Co-presenting 
If you’d prefer to not be on-stage alone, feel free to find a co-presenter, or we can help find one for you. 

Learning formats
Our current educational formats are 60 minute presentations, that include an opportunity for Q&A from attendees. Since attendees have different learning styles, interactive presentations are encouraged.  

In order to facilitate this, seating in educational sessions can be done in a variety of ways. If you have a preferred room set, please indicate in your proposal.


Preparing your application

Think outside the box when describing your session. Descriptions should be 3-5 sentences and should be informative enough for potential attendees to decide if they want to attend.  Be create with your session’s title.  We’ll reserve the right to edit your title and description to match our marketing style.

  • Your full contact details – name, telephone, email

  • A short biography (max 1000 characters or 250 words)

  • A high-resolution headshot photo (jpg, gif, png format)

  • Your company/organization’s logo (jpg, gif, png format)

  • Details of your co-presenter (with all of the information above)

  • Your proposed session title

  • Your session description (3-5 sentences) and at least three learner outcomes or take-aways from attending your session.
