Local Horse Farm Tour

Bites of Bluegrass Tour

Bites of the Bluegrass walking food and history tours offer an entertaining and unique way to see Downtown Lexington through a fabulous afternoon dinner party! The Ark Encounter

DEPARTS AT 11:30AM
The Ark Encounter features a full-size Noah’s Ark, built according to the
dimensions given in the Bible. Spanning 510 feet long, 85 feet wide, and 51 feet
high, this modern engineering marvel amazes visitors young and old. As you
enter Noah’s world aboard the massive Ark, you’ll tour three decks filled with
scores of world-class exhibit bays. These stunning exhibits allow you to
experience what Noah’s life may have been like. Wear comfortable clothing and
walking shoes. Boxed lunch to be provided on the bus.

The Ark Encounter does have a lot of walking, but it can be more of a self-guided tour for attendees to atop and take breaks along the way.  arkencounter.com


Historic Church Walking Tour

DEPARTS AT 12:30PM
Since its founding in 1775, Lexington and the surrounding region have long been a place rooted in faith. Today, with more than 50 denominations you can find over 230 places of worship throughout the city. In particular, downtown Lexington is home to a wide variety of historical locations – many of which serve as the centers of worship for the region or state.

Join VisitLEX for a walking tour to learn more about the history of the faith community in Lexington and experience the opportunity to see inside several of these places of worship that hold such history, reverence and beauty including places like Christ Church Cathedral, Historic St. Paul African Methodist Episcopal Church, Historic St. Paul Catholic Church and more.

The tour will begin and end at the Central Bank Center lasting approximately 2 hours and will include about 1.5 – 2 miles of total walking. (Walking Shoes are recommended. In the event of inclement weather, transportation will be provided.)
